3.10. Check of a condition of components of a suspension bracket and steering

Components of a steering drive and suspension bracket should be checked regularly – their wear can serve as the reason of excessive and dangerous wear of tires, deteriorations of running characteristics and controllability of the car, and also fuel consumption increase. Check of shock-absorbers

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Park the car on an equal platform, switch off the engine and cock the parking brake. Check pressure of a rating of tires.
  2. Press a hand one of corners of the car and release a hand. Pay attention to body movement. It should cease to shake and come back to a starting position after one or two fluctuations.
  3. If the car continues to be shaken or did not come back to a starting position, the possible reason of it is the worn-out shock-absorber.
  4. Repeat the procedure described above for each of three remained corners of the car.
